1897 Ebony walking stick with gold crown top

I have an ebony walking stick that was given to a Shriner in 1897 that has a gold crown on the top. It does not have the carat marked, but has the following: a symbol that looks like an acorn with an S in it with a bar coming from top right through the S.

Also marked 50 with an A close by, and then a 2 with a circle around it.
