8 Mark?

Hello, I have a question concering a gold ring I aquired a short time ago. I see no markings on the inside anywhere, just what looks like an 8 on the outside, toward the bottom of shank. I have been told by a jeweler it is 10k.

the hallmark I am seeing looks like an upside down separated N, then a left tilted T, then a D
