Black Pearl
by: Todd pearls

A photo please! Natural Black Pearls can appear to have a blue- purple-black flash, like the iridescent sheen you see shimmering on the surface of an oil spillage. Often the black pearls from the Gulf of California and the Pacific coast of Mexico have their color enhanced with silver nitrate.

Natural Abalone pearls, Tahitian pearls or colored simulants

Any chance of a photo of this pearl?

Is the pearl a dark blue-black color similar to a Tahitian pearl?

Have you heard of Abalone Pearls? The theatricals of paua pearls (also called abalone pearls) is their amazing Color, adding the color BLUE to the pearl palette.

These pearls are natives of New Zealand (which is close to the south pole) and it's in these freezing cold oceans around New Zealand Natural Abalone Pearls call home.

Best Wishes,
Yvonne
