a 1940's inherited ring

I have inherited a ring which has 285 and 9ct & plat. inscribed on the band, it doesn't have big stones, it has 3 tiny diamonds, inset in a twisted band, could you please tell me what these hallmarks mean? also the ring was bought around 1948, thank you.
