Antique Diamond Brooch 1800's

by Juanita Wills
(Hinton, WV)

I have an antique Diamond Brooch that has 32 mine cut or rose cut diamonds and is probably 18k gold. It is in a leaf and flower form and is quite large. The only mark is an "L.P." and a possible eagle head or some aminal head. The letters are clear but the head mark is not. It has no gold content mark. We live in a very small town with no contacts. A jeweler tested the diamonds and gold for me. The clasp is old 1800's style. Could you give me some input. Thanks, Juanita Wills
