Hi Allyson thanks for writing to us. The asian letter that you have described may be a birmingham date letter in script form, a fancy style of running writing. If we could see these marks close up, we could confirm date. It sounds to me like this ring has a full set of British hallmarks.

The Victorian standard of 15ct would be 15 with .625 and would be clearly visible. May I ask why you believe it to be gold-pated?
