Blackamoor Gold and Enamel Earrings

by Mary
(Australia)

I have a pair of blackamoor earrings which i have had for 25 years which were passed down to me from my grandmother from europe.

Each earring has two diffrent markings on them one being 585 and the letter R and two unusual shapes on them. Is there anyone who can help me identity the origins, makers or can date them.

There are some markings on them that i had to use a microscope to see them. What i would like to know is how old they are and where would they have originated from.

I believe they may be of Austria-Hungry origin. I know women in Croatia used to wear these type of earrings many years ago.
Thanks
