Cameo initials and art scorpian or crab on the open back mounting

I wondered if you could give me some information on the black cameo brooch or pin.It has the initials at the top of the back mounting of NM.It also has a crab or missing one leg it appears with a total of 4 legs total,so I'm not sure it is really a crab-ant info would be appreciated. Thank you
