CROWN Mark on Gold Jewelry
by: Anonymous

Hi D Shafer thank you for writing in with the following hallmark question:

"I have recently purchased an antique wedding set. It is 14k white gold with a diamond in the center of the ring with two small diamonds on the side. On the band there are four small diamonds in a row the same size as the two on the ring. There is a sort of hinge snap thing that allows you to connect both rings together. My question is on the inside of the ring and band it says 14k and there is the word CROWN what does the word CROWN mean?"

The name CROWN was a Tradename used by R.H. Ingersoll & Bro (New York, NY, USA & London, UK) ca. 1882 - 1921

best wishes,
