DB & Co Hallmark on Gold Jewellery

I have a very old gold chain ladies fob chain. It has a sliding 'zipper' heart shaped with a small opal set in it.

The only marking is on the clip ( which holds the key or fob watch). It reads " D B & Co"

Can you tell me anything about it?
