Hi Gemma thanks for writing in.

It sounds to me like the UK sponsor is Slade & Woolfe.
There's more info on this sponsor at the following link.

The crown then number, 375 are the UK purity marks or quality marks. The ring is 9 carat gold. The caratage is the most hard wearing.

The letter A inside a square with the corers cut out will be the date letter.

If you go to Jewelry Resources there's a link titled - Researching British Hallmarks. You will need to cross examine the date letter on your ring against the date letter chart. The letters have to match, and not only the letter, but the square with the cut off corners that the letter appears in.
