The band has the mark 9 375 on it. I take that to mean it is 9 karat gold. I haven't had the metal or stones tested.

Is the metal silver coloured? The sapphire is an amazing colour which makes me wonder if it's natural sapphire or not - gems with top colour can be worth more than diamonds. Have you had the stones or the metal tested?
Marks: 'G&T.J'...lion passant standard mark for sterling silver (i.e., 925)...uncrowned leopard city mark for London...'h' for 1963 (i.e., year of manufacture)... on reverse.
