Is it an Early HC Signature?
by: Anonymous

Good Evening Shirley

the central bead does look interesting. Most unusal and looks similiar to the Murano glass beads that have been foiled. Hattie Carnegie pins use a variety of materials. Some pins have a high domed centre covered in tiny turquoise colored seed beads. Others central stones include large faux pearls, poured glass, lucite beads and black glass with glued on gold glass cameo, and you might also find gold toned circles loaded with pave rhinestones.

Could you please advise if the signature is HC as this is one of the oldest Carnegie signatures.

KInd Regards
Yvonne

Based on pic alone
by: Fox

Hi there,
Based on the pic alone, the stone appears to be red amber. If it is a costume jewelry mount, most likely it is synthetic amber. The other stones (if not synthetic or glass) are most likely champagne topaz or quartz. Only a professional gemologist could tell if they are natural or man made.

Hope this helps!
