Love this piece. Have been searching for Cameo to call my own. I evidently was born in the wrong era as I have always been drawn to the beauty and detail that a cameo contains. Should you decide to sell this I would love the chance to discuss the possibility.

Help with Cameo information and Value Please

Hello Sally,

It appears that you already know a lot about your brooch. The cameo is carved on shell. Carving is going back to Italy in the mid 1800s and the frame made in England, at the same period.

This cameo is indeed carved by skillful cameo master but doesn't have great value, because of the material. Shell was used to make imitations of hard stone classic antique cameos.

I would estimate it at US$500.00 more or less, and the best way to sell it is to offer it on eBay.
Good luck with it.
