I have a cameo passed down from my grandmother

The store is the cameo brooch was smuggled out of Germany. There are only 3 of them in the US.

I don't know any more than that except I have pictures of my grandmother wearing it on special occasions. She passed it to my mom, and my mom just passed and I received it. I am just curious about whether or not I am able to research the history of it.
