I also have a gold bracelet with the following markings:

750 98 vi MAR

My mother who is 83 years old was given this bracelet by her father after his last trip to Italy.

Any idea what the 98 vi MAR means?

OK. Do you have any idea of the approximate age? The number 750 is the gold karat marking or the millesimal mark. You can find the decimal conversion chart on this page.
