a photo would be needed to research this mark further. it could be non-commercial jeweller's mark - 375 is the gold purity mark.

9K, 9ct or 375 (parts per 1000) or is 37.5% gold (mainly British Commonwealth countries). 9 ct gold is hard wearing.

Lockets in the early 1800s might be used to contain a lock of hair.
Locket compartments in the later part of the 1800s were used for photos.
