I recently picked up an "antique" cameo ring (supposedly from victorian era) but the serial makes me suspicious

Antique Cameo Meanings and Prices
by: Anonymous

Hi and thank you for your question. This is not an antique ring as there is NO decimal point proceeding the millesimal value "375" that I can see.

THE DECIMAL POINT WAS DROPPED OFF CIRCA - 1975

Maybe the cameo itself is an antique but the ring is certainly not. There are tell-tale clues when dating an antique cameo - the depiction on the cameo is one of them.

Best Regards
