What kind of prices do natural shell cameos fetch?
The photo is not the best - so I would say it is a trick of light.

the subject is beautifully depicted and the ivy leaf and vine woven through her hair lends to the natural beauty of timeless cameo appeal. Just one thing is bothersome, the relief, if cornelian shell is not normally this shiny white - shell is nacreous and more of a matte texture - around the edges on the reverse also looks more in keeping with a mould material. Could just be a trick of light. Lovely whatever but natural shell cameo fetch higher prices than imitations.
