It's a really, really really detailed brooch

by Frances
(New England)

It's all-time, all-around, greatest and loveliest brooch I've ever seen. AND IT'S MINE!

It's all-time, all-around, greatest and loveliest brooch I've ever seen. AND IT'S MINE!

This is my favorite piece of jewelry - - all time.

I'm not a great photographer, so the best pic is probably the black and white one. You see the detail, but not the colors.

It is (I'm guessing) Art Nouveau. It's about 2.5" wide and 2" tall.

I did the best I could with photos. By the time I was to photograph the back, batteries on the camera went dead and no replacements till tomorrow.

The coloring is odd - - it seems "interwoven" with gold and silver and maybe bronze? No expert.

On the back, it LOOKS LIKE A NAME IS SIGNED, but try as I might, no luck making it out.

I wear it all the time and have been told many, many times (usually by those who know, i.e. women 65 or 70+, that I shouldn't wear it; should have it appraised, etc. etc. etc)

What do you think?

Thanks for any and all replies.
