Japanese jewelers (including Mikimoto) use K18 for 18 carat gold. It is not filled or plated.

It makes you wonder. Why would a jewelry manufacturer want to confuse people? I mean if it is 18K Gold why make it hard for people. Unless the K is the maker. I would get it tested if I were you. That's the only way you will know for sure. Best of luck.
