Does Antique Gold Ring Pass The Acid Test?

Hi Jane we need to see an image of the marks on your antique ring. They could be pseudo- British hallmarks. Is there a gold purity mark anywhere to affirm the gold content?

If there isn't a gold purity mark on the band, this omission doesn't necessarily mean the ring is not gold, but means it will need further testing to ascertain the metal content; does it pass the acid test by acid testing for gold?
