Middle Eastern (?) brooch, additional pics

Here are more pictures but I can not seem to get a clear enough picture of the medallions. The Lebanese friend said it was Arabic but so old that the writing is no longer the same as present day. There are no markings on the back. Thanks again for your great advice!
