mizpah ring

by Frankie Adams
(Sikeston, Missouri)

A men's sterling silver ring was located with the Crossed Rifles on top and Mizpah on the side with an Eagle with three to five stars on the other side.

I am assuming this ring is from the civil war time frame, considering who owned the ring for such a long period of time. I wish I had been able to talk to this lady because I am sure there is a great story to go with it.

I am just curious if the time frame is correct and if this was something that was made for men going off to war to remember their loved ones and their committment.

Thanks in advance,

Frankie
