I found a sygnet styled ring only has a capital j on a slant on the inside by: Frank
The ring looks really old but it's a light colour I'm assuming hoping it's gold but it's in a sygnet style as if it's been used as a stamp with writing of some language and a number butit doesn't coincide with hold numbers and looks as if a number is stamped sideways. Please help me I've been research I g for 5 more hours and no my k noot even a hint of findingnits origins it also has symbols in a spade tear drop shape seems to be held by a snakenot dragon either side like a crest

Sorry, the title of the original question should have read letter "S" stamped inside ring . The ring has no other markings on it except for that letter "S" with a circle around it engraved inside the band.

Have mother's first gift from Dad, pre-1939 with j 9 k on the upper inside edge of band that is slightly folded. ornate gallery surrounds the cameo mounted on rust colored base. any ideas of what the letters stand for?

What a lovely sounding ring! Im sure it looks even better on your finger. I'm assuming the topic " 9 stamped inside ring" is the gold content. 9K, 9ct or 375 (parts per 1000) or is 37.5% gold is Hard wearing.
