gold metal detecting and gold prospecting can return some very interesting results. The dark brown coloured high domed cabochon at ring centre front is either banded agate or tigers eye. It's a very nice ring. Have you tested the rings and confirmed the metal content?

Not surprising men's gold bands were buried, you don't see a great deal of antique gold signet rings because when gold peaks men's jewelry was the first thing to get melted. Unfortunately, men's wedding rings went into the melting pot first.
