Mikimoto Pearl Info
by: Anonymous

HI Matt thanks for writing in with the following pearl question:

"I was just given a pearl mikimoto ring, gold with one pearl in the original box and I was trying to find out its age and approx value."

Mikimoto pearls are considered to be the best quality cultured pearls by many pearl connoisseurs. Their pearl grading system is the benchmark.

Mikimoto first opened a pearl store in Tokyo's Ginza district and exhibited his pearls at the World Exhibition in Paris in 1937, winning global fame.

You can read more info about Mikimoto pearls here.

We do not provide valuations on Antique Jewelry Investor. You could try What It's Worth To You they do online valuations and are quite reasonably priced. I'm not sure if they do pearl valuations on-line or not. You could email them and make enquiries. Let us know if they do pearl valuations or not, if you have time.

If the pearls are in the original mikimoto box this will add to their value.

best wishes,
Yvonne Hammouda-Eyre
