Natural Russian Alexandrite is very rare. There's some information on Alexandrite stone in these threads.

Concerning a Five Pointed star in a circle next to triple digits (number varies depending on fineness) is the Russian mark for SILVER ca. 1958 - 1991. This is just one of many star in circle marks. A photo of the mark is necessary. Paid Experts Opinions are available HERE
