Greeks before Romans
by: Anonymous

My family has 2 rings that look exactly like this. They are almost 70 years old. The bottom face is a Greek man. Showing that the Greeks were here before the Romans. I was in Pompeii a couple weeks ago and was in a Cameo shop that historically made these rings. I hope this helps. FYI it seems these are 3 different materials as well.

I have a cameo just like this one on a gold locket and was wondering what if anything you found out about it.

Austrian Renaissance
by: Theresa

I do know this is represented of the Austrian Renaissance era. The Roman soldiers were trustfully from the region which was Roman Empire now Austria, Hungry, Cz. ect. The Royals during those time frames delighted in this style of representation memory of jewelry which passed on to non Royals for enjoyment. These pieces are to be prized fine beautiful craft. It's historical value needs increased over time.
