Golden South Sea Pearls Replacement Value
by: Anonymous

Golden South Sea pearls are rare and beautiful. Usually sizes are larger than your gold pearls and range in size from 8 mm — 20 mm with the average gold south sea pearl being around 13 mm.

The large size of South Sea pearls, due to extended growth periods and the limited culturing localities are two very good reasons that make the South Sea pearl one of the rarest of all pearl types. Natural Pearls are the rarest of all pearls types.

The lustre of South Sea pearls, whether white or golden, is deep and velvety, rich and luxurious. Golden South Sea cultured pearl necklaces are considered by some pearl connoisseurs to be the most rare and most valuable pearls in the world.

Golden pearls were not considered desirable before the 1990s, after which date aggressive marketing gold pearl campaigns mainly in Hong Kong were staged.

There are many things to take into consideration when working out a replacement value. The size is small for south sea golden pearls. As we were not informed of your wedding date - "pre-wedding" provides no clue for dating purposes. We are just a little more confused. Do you have any photograhic record of the pearls? Maybe a photo that was taken of you wearing these golden pearls? Was there ever a valuation done? Very sad that they were stolen.

Best Regards

Yvonne
