Thank you so much for your help Valerie. It is great information and I'm sure you are correct in in being a commissioned piece. You certainly spent a huge amount of time looking for this info. I really appreciate it. That must be a very large database you have.

Non-Commercial Metalsmith? by: Anonymous
Hi I have spent abut 36 hours researching my resources in databases for this mark , with no luck . There does not appear to be a reference anywhere for this maker. All we can determine from this is that the bracelet was made by a small , most likely non commercial metalsmith in a private workshop and not a commercially produced item.
It may have been a commissioned piece. It is wonderfully made, delicate and elegant and the trombone style closure on the clasp indicates c 1940 for the date of manufacture .
Kindest regards

Thank you for GZ hallmark help by: Carmen
Thank you for the help and compliments on the bracelet.
In no hurry to find maker. I will look for info on Grothe Z to see what I can find and compare.
The way the bracelet is made, the little 'beads' are made to look like tihy diamonds that reflect the light. It feels like silk. Is almost therapeutic to feel it.

Tube Type Clasps by: Yvonne
Carmen, i just don't want you to think we have forgotten you! We have been extremely busy and Im still waiting for another opinion on the actual makers mark which should confirm the date which appears to be around the early 1900's to 40s. The tube clasp, or "trombone clasp" as many people call these types of clasps, were used at the end of the 19th century and continued to be used right through to the 1940s in Europe.
Meantime, if you are in a hurry and looking for a quicker answer please do not hesitate to contact What It's Worth To You. Actually their service has a 100% positive feedback from our visitors. (You need to register there first)
