Recover it all

by Mary
(NY)

I believe everything that can be recovered, should be. I understand the sensitivity of the matter, but it's also a part of our history. I saw the Titanic exhibit when it was in Boston, and I will never forget the sense of awe that I felt while looking at the personal belongings of some of the passengers. I remember standing, speechless, in front of the large piece of the ship that was raised.

I still have the original National Geographic photos of it's discovery on the ocean floor, and I am fascinated with every new find. I agree totally with the person who said "If I were a victim on the Titanic...I would want any piece of me to live on that could."

It would tell at least a part of my story, and I wouldn't mind having others viewing it in a museum.
