I have this exact ring. It was my mother's. Was given to her in the early 70's as an engagement ring. Since it is not entirely gold, I am glad she never married the guy. I don't even know if the diamond is real.

This ring is Costume Jewelry by Uncas Mfg. Co. Manufacturing Jewelers, Providence, RI, 1920s to Present.

The letters, HGE inside the metal ring band stands for: Hard Gold Electroplating. It isn't solid 18 kt gold.
The company used different marks throughout its history; this mark was in use until approximately 1988.
