Sil + 14kt vintage necklace with small and large metal hoops

Its marked" sil + 14kt" what exactly does that mean , the small hoops appear to be silver and the larger hoops are gold in color and this is after I dropped it in sulphuric acid and ran a current through it so I know for a fact that it's not gold plated silver for the gold plating would have been stripped in the acid...please help if anyone has any idea what the unique marking means? Thank you so much!
