Hi there

your loft sounds fun! Is the WG in a punch mark? And if so, what shape is it? Also is there a dot between the letters or not? How many points on the star? Is the c in a punch-mark? There are a number of WG maker's marks. One of the earliest spoonmakers with the initials WG is WILLIAM GED (Spoonmakers, Edinburgh, Scotland, UK) - around the 1720s

Happy Hunting!
