Thats interesting, maybe these identical stick pins were originally joined together with a safety chain to resemble the very early stick pins. The first stickpins were simple and consisted of clusters of stones or single stones or plain gold; sometimes two were worn linked together by a chain.

Hi Art, without the benefit of a photo, the Tiffany maker's mark that comes closest to resembling the figure 8 sideways would be John C Moore's mark -1853.
