What Do These Markings Mean

My Bracelet has some kind of markings but I can't make them out properly. On one link it has a number 2 and there is something else but I cant make it out - it looks like a 1 to me. At the other end it seems to be like a picture of two elephants? and a monkey? I have had it for more than 20 years and it was second hand when it was given to me. Thank you.
