Crown Hallmarks & Hallmark Determinations

Hi Sean thanks for writing in!

There a a lot of different crown marks on jewelry. For instance, three crowns is the country mark of Sweden. Finland also use a crown mark. Crown marks are also used by some jeweler's as a signature, a registry , also called a sponsor's or maker's mark.
The shape of the cartouche behind the crown, (if there is one) and the shape of the crown itself - i.e., the number of points on the top of the crown, amongst other little details, provide vital clues. A photo of the crown mark, is necessary for a hallmark determination here.
