Modern Designs using Aurora Borealis Rhinestones
by: Anonymous

Hi Linda!

it's easy to upload a photo on Antique jewelry Investor! Re-submit question on general jewelry forum and press button underneath that says "upload a file" - this will return a list of files - choose photo file of the Wolcott bracelet on your computer. It might be easier if you were to save the photo on the desktop, then it's easy to find the file to upload.

Your jewelry sounds beautiful. The heavy metal could be brass, as I believe Wolcott used her artist license to great effect with this metal.

The Aurora Borealis rhinestones (AB) in the bracelet also indicate a modern design. The process of making AB coating on crystal was still in the early phases in the early 1950's by the Swarovski Company.

The process progressed to some success in 1953, but it wasn't until 1955 that a gentleman by the name of Manfred Swarovski perfected the AB stone. Swarovski worked closely with Christian Dior, and they were the first to have access to the Aurora Borealis rhinestone sometimes called the "rainbow" stone.

Best Wishes,

Information on Wolcott
by: Anonymous

Thankyou for the information on Wolcott. The braclet and earrings I have are of a very heavy metal and large aurora borealis stones, it looks to be of wedding jewelry, the hallmark is in script on the back. I wish I was able to send a photo, not really aware of how to do that at this time, will have to look into it. Thankyou so much for your time, it is greatly appreciated.

K. Wolcott | Texas Jewelry Designer
by: Anonymous

Hi Linda, thanks for writing in with the following:

"I have two beautiful pieces marked Wolcott on the back. The only information I can find on the Internet is about the town of Wolcott and a robery in a Jewelery store. Do you have any information on this designer?"

Kimberly Wolcott, is a Texas Native. Her designs have been sold nationwide and also in England and Japan. Wolcott's product line are especially personal, and consists of decorative and religious and personal accessories made with jewelry findings. She is particularly associated with "religious jewelry" and vintage crosses. Wolcott developed Crown Jewel ornaments for the private quarters Christmas tree in the White House for the Clinton family in 1993.

You can read more about Wolcott and see her product line here.

best wishes,
Yvonne Hammouda-Eyre
