X Marks on Gold Cufflinks
by: Anonymous

Hi TC that's a hard one. We need to see a photo of the marks on the cufflinks if possible.

For example:

X in an oval was used in the UK on sterling silver on IMPORTED items ca 1904 - Present.

X in a rectangle was used in the UK on all grades except 24 ct gold on IMPORTED items ca 1904 to present.

X in a pointed shield (pointing north) was used in the UK on PLATINUM on IMPORTED items ca 1975 to present.

And to make things even more confusing X could also be sponsor's mark.

Thank you for your question.
Regards

Yvonne Hammouda-Eyre
