Hi Robin thanks for your question. These marks that include numbers can be puzzling can't they, as there are a few possibilities. It could simply be a purity mark, a maker's mark that included the "14" as the trademark, or the purity mark plus the initials of the maker IK. More information is therefore requested in relation to the following:

1. When and how was the ring acquired, for example: purchased at a Flea Market or Auction 6 years ago  OR  picked it up at a Garage Sale from a French family 2 years ago etc

2. A PHOTO (you are welcome to upload a photo of the mark in a follow-up submission).

3. Any other information you may have already discovered and any other details that will help.
