Antique Cocktail Ring.

by Heather
(Virginia, USA)

Several years ago I inherited some costume jewelry, unfortunately selling the majority of it. I have one piece that I kept (since the emerald is my birthstone). It is a Gold ring with a large (what I had assumed was faux, but now not so sure) emerald.

It has 2 markings 14K (which I know what that means) but the other is what appears to be a building (a church, or a clocktower or something of that sort.) It is tall on the left part of the hallmark with some sort of dome-ish top and something sticking up, then smaller part of the building to the right. (that is a poor description, I am sorry) I have attached the best picture I could get.
