Art Deco Diamond Engagement Ring Hallmark | Marked "PLAT"

by Tad
(Kent, UK)

I have a solitaire Art Deco diamond engagement ring with a hallmark I would like to know more about, so can you help me please?

It appears to be marked 10CT (it could be an 18 that has worn away) PLAT PALL. Does this mean that the setting which is white is from Platinum/Palladium?

It has no other markings, but has a beautifully cut sparking stone in a hexagonal pointed shape.

Can you tell me any more about it's possible origins.
Thanks.
