Garnet Cabochon Ring - unable to identify hallmark

by Stefanie
(Union, NJ, USA)

I was given a large men's ring, with a large cabochon garnet -closed back. The gold is dark (maybe rose gold) and there is intricate scroll work on either side of the stone. the hallmark is one rectangular cartouche with rounded corners with an anchor tipped to the right and a capital "K" (not script) and there are initials in script W.D.

As far as I can tell from my research the Anchor means it was made in Birmingham. The "K" could be any number of dates.
I do not feel any local jeweler would be able to give me accurate information and I am very interested to know the age and possible value.

Any help is appreciated.
