The Head in Profile Could Be A Duty Mark
by: Anonymous

Hi Chica!

the Ladies Head & Shoulders in profile, could be the DUTY MARK, of Queen Victoria - ca 1838 - 1890. Hibernia (ca 1732 - Present) is the Ireland, DUBLIN Town Mark, seated and in profile, in a position similar to what you see in the Ancient Egyptian drawings of Egyptian royalty.

The initials, WM is the maker, and there are a few companies that used these initials, an image is required to determine the mark. I cannot see the hallmarks in this ring even when i zoom in on maximum - sorry.

Crown and 18 is the UK gold purity mark on 18 carat gold, ca 1798 - 1974.

The letter P will be the date letter.

Best Wishes,

Is it Lady Hibernia Grainne?

Hibernia is the Classical Latin name for the island of Ireland and is the Dublin Town mark. The Dublin Assay Office was established in 1637 to supervise the assaying of all gold and silver throughout the whole kingdom of Ireland.
