18ct necklace

I have an 18ct gold 28" necklace each link is in like a figure eight and alternate yellow gold and then white gold.

There is the 750 mark and below that I think it is-a solid star 207 v1 this is on the clasp,on the reverse it has what I think is the initaials F.N (or poss.M) I have been to Jewellers and they don't tell me a lot only to get it insured and all three that I have been to seem eager for me to part with it.

Any ideas to it's origin/history would be very much appreciated. Thank you.
