Hi I have came across an old pocket watch chain in my grans loft...it appears to be gold. No fading or anything, it is stamped with the words 'Egyptian gold' going across the bar on one end of the chain. Please can you advise me as to if this is actually gold or not. Many thanks

Hi Terry thanks for writing in. Well, aren't they something! There were two egyptian revivals in the (modern) history of jewelry, they were in the 1920s and the 1970s.
And judging from the style of the Ancient Egyptian motif which are so sweet and the earring findings themselves - being screw backs that became popular around the early 1900s, I would say these earrings would have been made around the 1920s and would have turned all heads at the time.
