Jack.
I have a similar ring and the original Asahi ring case . Also circa 1969. I inherited them from my mother and in my laypersons opinion they are magnificent. Did you ever learn a correct value ?

Jack, the receipt is verification enough. How did you find the condition of the pearls under magnification? Being a high dome style set with pearls this would be a prospective buyers major concern. I would be interested in buying this ring Jack if you were thinking about selling it. I had a pearl ring I sold year's ago and still regret selling it. i didn't realize how attached I'd become to this particular pearl ring.

Warm Wishes,
Yvonne

Very unique. Beautiful in person. All I have is the original receipt - it just says pearl ring and price - 10,000. Yen in 1969. The receipt from the Tokyo store I cited. Will find a glass and look at it - a local jeweler loved it.

Good Morning Jack!

Asahi is Japanese for "morning sun" - an appropriate brand name for fine Akoya cultured pearls from JAPAN. The ring is beautiful and unusual Jack, in it being a high dome cluster of
fine akoya pearls. This not your everyday ring. The resale value will depend on the condition of the pearls; on the MOHS scale of hardness, pearls do not win first prize. Do you still have the documentation? Jack, have you looked at the pearls under magnification to verify condition?

Warm Regards
