Coffin Shaped Reserve?

Are you sure the letter M is not the number 3? Austro-Hungarian pieces may bear the head of a woman, animal, or bird with a number inside a cartouche or reserve. On silver and gilt jewelry (gold over silver) is the dog’s head with the number 3 inside a coffin shaped reserve, in this example, this mark would indicate 800 silver, which I believe was in use between 1866-1937.
