Birmingham Pocket Watch Maker
by: Anonymous

Hi Christopher thank you for writing in with the following question:

"It is an old pocket watch with 5 stamps on the inside including:

An Anchor

A non capital b

A Lion

The letters C.H.E

and the numbers 353

Hope you can help!"

C.H.E was the Birmingham maker's mark used by

Errington Watch Co. - CHARLES HUTON ERRINGTON (Watch Cases, Birmingham, UK) - ca 1880s - 1930s

To get the exact year between 1880 and 1930, compare the lower case b with the letters in the Birmingham date letter chart. - (the link is n top right hand corner of page)

best wishes,
Yvonne Hammouda-Eyre
